HC if possible...........after the race the I would like to lead a volcano dive into the cone at F1. Norron's favorite rides were the F4U-1D and the P-38 (any flavor P-38 will do).

I thought we could up quickly after the race and fire off a volley of rockets into the cone as we dive to our deaths.

Thoughts?

Did you go backwards and see the pics describing the Banzai attack? Aircrew were on the island getting ready before the marines had finished mopping up the remaining dug in Japanese.

I am very sad to inform our S3 family that we have lost a member.

Early this evening Ron Maurer....or as we know him, norron, passed away at his home in his sleep. He has been battling lung cancer since last summer.

Norron came to the NS's via his long time friends hogger and shack. They were known as the Ballard Bros Flying Circus in the main. I know they shared a love for both locomotives and aviation.

Norron to me was a go to member of our NS family. Whenever I needed help or asked for testing of anything norron was always there to help. He also flew with us in our IL2 adventures and carries the call sign, Blue 33.

I know Ron enjoyed being a part of the NSs and spending time with not only us but all of you that make the S3 experience what it is.

Phenix, please take norron off of our active roster as he has changed assignments.


Rest in Peace and Blue Skies forever my friend.

I to am sorry to see this. I feel like my friend from across the street is moving.

Wilz you are and have always been a class act. You know how the NS and I feel about your guys. It's been an honor to have flown with you guys for all these years.

I still smile thinking about those missions NOE way deep with no vor or navaids at all. Jabo was going through a weeding out period I think. hehehe I loved it, having us in P-38s and your Stangs all around.
