Speaking of tail gunners, guys, you might want to consider what is the true job of a tail gunner.

Get the lead out of the tail.

Speaking of which... 11-27-2009 10:56 Forum: S3 Discussion

While we're on the subject, phenix, could you also investigate the following?

I was shot down in Frame 2 in my B-17, and wiley was scored the kill. However, shack of the Night Stalkers said he saw in the buffer that he was scored the kill (through friendly fire). Is there any record of that in the stats? It could be that shack's gunner in his B-17 was tracking a con in the box and he sprayed me a little bit, too.

This, too, is no biggie. We're just curious.

What? 11-23-2009 23:59 Forum: S3 Discussion

Heya, Shack Cool

What are you talking about, bud? Are you saying that's how I lost my vator last night? I lost my vator before we dropped. Besides, an nme fighter got the credit for my kill.

Are you talking about another Tigertail? Mrbang? Loboxx? Mcknee?

Clarify it, my friend.

And then, don't worry about it. Even Tigertails have killed fellow Tigertails in a bomb drop. Especially when we're NOE in B-25's. Big Grin

We'll miss you guys, =wilz=. That from another squadron who tries to fly as historically as the game allows.

If any of your guys want to try bombers, they're more than welcome to try us out. We're some of the best bombers in the game.

I'm not sure how much "force" we have, only a few members flying now. But we'll do what we can. As you know, jabo, we specialize in level bombing at high alts. The kind where you can climb out and walk on the ack bursts. Shocked

Thanks and <S>

Mark, your friendship has meant so much to me during these years together. I really enjoyed the cameraderie we had. You have provided excellent leadership for this bomb group.

More than anyone else in the group, you are the one who taught me what it means to fly as historically as possible in a virtual sim. You kept alive the distinction that came from a WB group that was based on an actual WWII bomb group, the 450th BG. That was the distinctive difference to our bomb group, and you never let us forget it. You still perform a valuable service to the actual 450th veterans association by maintaining their website.

I remember one time, just after I'd joined the group, I was questioning why we didn't perform a maneuver which essentially was gaming the game. You quickly set me straight on that.

I'm really going to miss flying with you, my friend. Don't be a stranger to us.

Jabo, this is not an attempt to start a flame, or open a can of worms. It's just FYI, from one friend to another.

The bomber numbers are dwindling, in spite of everything we commanders are doing to stop the attrition. Unless you increase the bufftuff settings, and give us a fighting chance, it may be the day will come when there will be no more bombers to fly the S3's.

Congratulations to a bomber par excellence -- my squadmate mrbang-- a Captain in the 550th BGH Tiger Tails. Bang, you're a great credit to our group. <S>

I'm also proud to see the Heracles and Ares Badges our group earned. We must be doing something right.

<S> all 550th, it's a privilege for me to be one of you.

And it was loads of fun again. <S> Daddy and the mighty 31st.

I enjoyed scoring a couple of kills in my P-51D.

The B-17 rides were so cool. Trying to avoid hitting the canyon walls (those Forts don't turn on a dime). It was great having friends jumpin' on board to gun for me -- Sentin, Split, my squaddie mcknee, who else?? olepup?? I forget. Boy, that was fun. I was on board with Gumsbreath when he completed one lap. Big Grin

It was great.

I've alerted the Tiger Tails on our Forum.

I first want to grab a Mustang and chase down Rabbits.

Wingin' with Yamon, preferably.

Then I'll prolly grab a Fortress and ask my squaddies to man the guns.

Puny KI-43's won't stand a chance. Tongue
