Thread: Trouble after updating WB 9/5 |
|

There are several posts to this problem on the IEN boards. Seems the .dll file that WB needs is not a part of DX11. You have to go back and DL DX 9c to fix the problem from what I gather.
Again I have to say:
Unless it is mandatory for arena entry DON'T EVER EVER EVER UPDATE!

Somebody correct me if I am wrong here but I don't think that Track IR works inside the buffs. I read that a couple of times on the IEN Boards.
I know several guys who have it and love it for fighters. You can also get the pro clip and it attaches to your headset vice the bill of a hat.

S3s are still the Super Bowl of WB! Plenty of guys still passionate about the sim. Senarios change and battle lines are drawn. Players show up to do the bidding of Jabo and Roan. Some players strive to elevate each and every battle to as close to realism as possible. (not always possible in WB though)
Player base still fluctuates from time to time but us old salty dogs still come back every Sunday. New guys come and some old guys go. Same old story.
In the last few years there have been several updates to WB. Some good and some bad. However there is renewed interest in making it better and some folks are working with the powers that be to assist in making the best changes to help advance WB again.
There is talk of a new graphics engine being put in place soon. I am very interested in seeing that. Amoung other changes that will hopefully spark even more old timers to come back.
As the time goes by we die hards will still be here and eagerly awaiting the opportunity to test our skills against the finest Simulator pilots on the web.
If you are coming back Jpmag you will be welcomed with open arms as if you never left. Come on back and catch the fever once again!

Your welcome Tracer. Should be a fun event. Guys will have to work for a buff kill with the early war stuff. Takes lots of 303s to kill em. Will need multiple fighters attacking to take them out. No one pass kills unless you can get a PK.
For an open event you definitely need to open up the blast radius for the eggs. The 250Kg eggs usually do very well against most ground targets. Four He111s should be able to take out a village with 8 eggs from each. All targets should go down with that much ord on them. Even if you don't score direct hits. If you test this with 500lb eggs you will find that you will need even more to get the same effect.
Either way it should be a fun time for all. Early Spits vs Early 109s and the classic matchup with the Spit 5s vs 109F. Will be interesting to see the tactics used in a classic mud moving event with this set.

Jabo,
There is no such thing as a ditch any more!
I have posted this many times over the last several months!
If you are closer to a friendly field you get a clean and safe exit NOT A DITCH!
Therefore the above mentioned incident will happen over and over again.
Someone needs to reset the safe distance to an airfield back to the way it used to be. There are limits that can be set.
Damaged aircraft can land and get a safe exit if they are closer to a friendly base than the enemy base.
Last series several allied fighters were smoked near the Japanese coast and made safe exits. I know they did not make it to there home fields. All they had to do is to make it just over half way back and they were given clean exits.
I hope this clears it up and we can finally get this dang thing fixed.
