EOTL #5 posted, final 08-03-2010 00:47 Forum: S3 Discussion

As discussed, there was a 1-2 minute window where nothing was logged due to an accidental arena settings reset. That occurred due to fat fingers loading AI routines I believe. During that window about a dozen guys had their landings missing and a couple had their take off missing. All was fixed. I know for sure that no kill occurred during this time. I do not know for sure if no surface destruction occurred, however no bombs were being dropped just prior and post to the outage window.

Status update.

In parsing the log, I cleared up all the errors I was getting for people missing take offs or landings. Although the log parsed clean, I have one more task before I upload it. I have to find and fix any pilots who took off and landed during that 2 minute period, as this would not cause an error in my parsing. This shouldn't be too hard to do, I just need to find those with 2 hour sorty times. Smile

I was able to verify that no kills were missed during this 2 minute window. I have no way to know if any ground destruction was missed in the log. However, there appears no bombing was occurring on either side of this window, so I think we are good on that.

I'll have more info in the write up.

There was a 2 minute window where all landings and take offs were missed. I have to add them manually. So, it will take several hours and I haven't had the time yet. But, I have done things like this before, so I know it's possible. It will get done.

613 miles, 4 states, 2 stops, with wife, 3 kids, and 2 dogs, through the pouring rain in 10 hours and 10 minutes. Oh, and a semi got struck by lightning in front of us.

Been working hard to catch up on the yard (lawn, weed, gardens, etc.). 2 weeks is longer than I thought. Smile

Checking in. I just parsed the log and it has issues. Not bad, it's parsable, but it appears several Discos got dropped from the log. This happens from time to time, but never in the amount that I saw in this log. This means I have to research and manually add things.... so, no posting until I get back next weekend. Don't need manual work on vacation you know. Wink

went to test this, but flight wasn't enabled.

We used to up the base radius for ETO because of some fields not covered, apparently it is being applied to all terrains.

What sucks about this is that some people knew and others didn't. That's a game play advantage. Why bail, just ditch in friendly territory and reroll.

Also explains lost kills last series when I was left wondering how a smoking enemy can fly 60 miles home without a kill being assigned.

Needs to be fixed.

In what is becoming a back and forth action, Spits beat the 109's in frame 4 after losing to them in frame 3. The ground action told the same story with the LW Ju88's and Bf110's devastating the Allied Ground troops.

Spit IX's went 15 kills for 6 losses. Spit V's had their best frame with 15 air to air kills and 6 air to ground kills for 9 losses. Both 109's were about 1 for 1 with a combined 27 kills for 30 losses. 3rd tier planes and jabos in general had high loss ratios.

The LW again hit the Allied troops hard. Ju88's pulled double duty of level and jabo bombing. They destroyed 36 GV's and 14 hard targets. Bf110s took out 7 GV's, 5 ships, and a hard target. 109's even picked up 10 GV kills and 1 hard target. Stucka's were in action this frame, knocking out 2 ships.

Allies did manage to find some retreating troops unprotected and knocked out 11 of them. Lancs took out a large number of hard targets (52) with no losses.

Thanks to Shroud and Sakai for CO'ing!

One year I was at my mom's place and I could hear planes in the sky, very close. I went outside and saw 4 T-6 Texans. They were using my dad's old ultralight runway as their practice runway. There was an air show the next day I came to find out. We watched them perform for about 30 minutes.

The LW came back strong after last week's loss to lead both in the skies and in the mud. Make no doubt about it, the Germans are in full retreat, but the LW is making the Allies pay heavily for every mile of territory they take. The dominate plane of the day was the Bf109F4. It had 31 air to air victories and 16 air to ground victories, while only losing 18 air frames. No one else came close to that ratio (Spit IX's were even at 10 for 10)

The Allies increased their surface destruction this frame by destroying 42 hard objects and sunk 4 ships. This beat the LW tally of 28 hard targets and a single ship. However, the story again was the number of Allied vehicles destroyed by the Jabos. 43 Allied GV's were lost.

Thanks to Bimmer and Shroud for CO'ing!

Razr is their CO I think, and yes, very young. He and a lot of the others flew with 475th, but attendence was sporadic and the they tried out other squads as well in the past year. So, these are S3 experienced players.

I am not too concerned about an intel breach as they all appeared to be stand up guys. But it would have been better if they had waited till EOTL was over.

LW took an early lead in kills when they knocked out the RAF's Southern strike and fighter groups along with some attacking Mossies in the North. The remainder of the Southern force and their saved Spit 9's would head North. There a concentrated poker game would ensue until someone called and then it was all in. From AAR's I have read, there was some pretty intense battles in the north and those with ACM running reported that there were fights from 40k to the deck occurring all at once in concentrated areas.

Out of all this the Spit 9's would come out victorious in the air. They went an incredible 35 kills for only 7 losses. No other plane made it to the positive side of the ratio.

The Allies were finally able to find the retreating German troops, but Allied ground units had devastating losses to the LW as they moved the front further away from their air support fields. Allied operational areas also reported heavy losses to ground structures. Rommel is happy thus far as his forces have withdrawn with minimal losses.

Thanks to Tracer and Shroud for CO'ing
