Juggo - I personally look forward to our groups leading PTO series in the future. The Deuces have a leg up on us for now, but in time, we will become formidable.

I would like to say that I have been offered, and have accepted, a high officer position in the new IJ squad Tainan Kokutai . Together -Sakai (Neusch) and I hope to grow this into a quality WB's and S3 squad.

I am proud to have Tracer as Chusa (Commander) for Tainan Kokutai! Trace and I worked together last year in the Campaign Manager Training Class (ad infinitum) though he and Sentin really deserve their Props "+" more than I.
It was in the class that we realized each others enjoyment of PTO events and thats when I realized Tainan Kokutai should become an open WB squad.
Welcome aboard, Tracer-San!
I have one more Shosa (Chief Officer) invite pending.

Hey All
I am reducing the presence of 'Neusch' from daily activity to only a few select S3s throughout the year. I am doing this to focus my attention on growing an Imperial Japanese Squad in Warbirds and ultimately for S3 participation.
Using a second account as -Sakai, I will be growing Tainan Kokutai into a squad with an ultimate goal as a two step (minimum) for S3 participation. I will maintain a reasoned presence with the neusch callsign, but my main focus is now turning to Tainan Kokutai.
I will no longer be in the CO rotation for the upcoming S3 year, but I wish to pass on my thanks to all the squads I've had the privilege to command. There are too many individuals to thank and it appears platitudinous when I thank whole groups over and over.
I'll see yall in the Fall when the new year kicks off and hope that when the next PTO event comes through, we will have an actual Warbirds Imperial Japanese squad flying in close to historic side rides.
Banzai!
~John.

I inserted a launch and land for you, so you will get credit for being there. |

Thanks for the Launch and Land.
I understand the need to do one to get credit. I wonder if the deaths to ramon and the second player were in the log (before you removed them), and to me. How is an maneuver kill credited in the log? I think it's wierd a player can get an MK credit and not have any record of being in the frame. These are just questions for my own information, just in case we get asked a few years down.
Thanks again for your work, especially in these crazy weeks past.

Wierd, Phenix
I logged into the S6 to find out the name of the second player I was credited as a kill - however, I have no frame 4 stats as I didnt actually launch an aircraft. I only attached as CV driver. Having been credited with two Maneuver Kills - I assumed my attaching as CV driver would count the same as rolling an airplane.

Tracer, thanks for reading my words without hating me I often lack the ability to choose the correct words.
I'm a pansy ass, and things get to me and bum me out. I'm a huge fan of the PTO history (more so than ETO), so like you I was really looking forward to this event. I let it get to me and take things personally when I shouldn't. |

You'll love the next PTO series.

Maybe this should have been a "fun" series instead of a "simple" one |

Piggy - I accept all the blame for the untimely deaths of you and my other brothers in Jg51. I lean harder on you fellas to get shit work done.
Im off to dig yall's latrines. Please - wait till Im done underneath the building before you pull the hatch.

There are a bunch of grey area rules it's taken seemingly forever to finally get clear this series.
Along with Neusch, I really enjoy the PTO scenarios and looked forward to this one a lot more than another BOB or bombers into Germany series. I wanted this series to lead to more PTO scenarios, if done well. Not just a "fun" S3 to close out the season.
The history of the war in the Pacific is rich with scenarios for nasty fights between the USN's blue birds and the various IJ a/c that are very strong in some areas, but weak in others. I hope the PTO is seen again soon in the S3. My 2 cents

Thank you, Tracer - I agree with everything you said here.
Gents - IJ series are bloody. The Imperial Japanese were fanatical in their approach to warfare - an all or nothing approach that stems from early feudalistic times. I believe, wholeheartedly that what we've done in the first four frames in MacArthurs Return is simulate the sheer desperation of the Japanese and their mindset of giving all, including the ultimate - your lives - for the greater cause. The frustrations shown in the AARs expound on this point, in that the veteran pilots of the IJ were NOT willing to go to that extreme. Which is why most Kami pilots were green and had less than 30 hours of flight time - including their 'training.'
Creamb - VERY WELL SAID!

I disagree but will not argue this point at all as the Kamikaze are contentious enough on our side.
In Frame 2 - We were Kamikaze. For my final life, I was in trail of a rotte (dont know the IJ versoin of rotte) flight. They were jumpped as they were diving into the carriers. They were in Kamikaze mode.
I was killed trying to take out as many of the Allies as possible - NOT in a Kamikaze mode, yet - heck 10+ miles from the ships.
I had some poor bastige in my sights - he was going to die. Next thing I know ... Kill of Neusch by Juice=.
Debate on - we have planning to do.

To be very clear and then I will bow out.
Anyone in this series flying a Ki-43 or Zeke should not have a DEATH of any sort count against them for that frame.
They have been told to be aggressive and did so. Thus they could get killed either way and needed the understanding of the fact that they would not hurt the consistency of quality play and stats to do what the Janitors were trying to do.
A kill is a kill in combat and if what phenix states is correct a single bullet and dive into a ship is a kill. But, NO deaths should injure the player or the statistics for them.
The only greyish area is a fight that ends in the Kamikaze dying trying to kill another and the other out flys him into the ground. The two player would know this and be honorable.
(actually just trying to support S3 here, any other conclusion is not in the spirit of what we do, and would put in doubt other simularly set up frames and cause poor play.)

Jabo - Phenix
I received two maneuver kill credits last night that need to be removed from my statistics. I only screen captured one, though.
-ramus was credited to me by MK.
If I remember the other player or happen on the screen shot, I'll update this thread.

It takes 12-15 seconds to check the status of all the fields in the arena, with my script. Jabo has this too now. I did this to help with the flip/flopping the fields do, especially those last few minutes. Now there is possible confusion, the understatement of the year right? Hehehe....
*** If a field is captured, it opens. Jabo must then manually close it. So it is possible that an open field on my map may have just been captured before Jabo closed it again.
Other than that, it is an unbiased record of that moment in time. Just trying to help guys |

Tks, Whawk! I appreciate your work for the S3s!!!

Gonna parse it for ease, thor - you're about 95% there from what I understand...

see i thought it was t+160 possession that determines ownership, Yes
if ownership changed the field was open.No
if a field was open at frame start and then closed, it was closed for the next frame if ownership did not change at t+160.Yes
if a field was closed at frame start, and ownership did not change as of t+160 then the field should be open.Yes
i thought i had it before whwks map but his conclusion does not follow the above which was my understanding.Whawks map shows field status at T+160, but does not take into consideration the fields status at the start of the frame (closed, open, country) which affects the status of the fields for frame 5. |
|
Basically - we need Jabo to post his Frame 5 board so that we can parse what he has.

No - the recaptures are considered reinforcements (I suppose). I'll re-read my post, but I believe all recaptures maintain their country affiliation.
This crap confuses me, big time. And Jabo said it's a 'Simple Series' Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Using Frame 4 Setup Board and Whawk's end of frame 4 SS and in game action - here's what I have
Bohol
F66 and F15 - both red closed BEFORE frame 4. No capture or recapture of these two fields in Frame 4 - therefore, F66 and F15 should be red and Open for Frame 5.
F14 and F49 - both fields red and closed for Frame 5. They were both red and open in frame 4 and closed by the allies. Therefore they are red and closed in frame 5.
South Leyte
MAF 63 was green and closed to begin Frame 4 and remained so at the end of the frame - 63 - Green and open.
SAF16 was green and open to begin Frame 4, was closed by red, captured by red, recaptured by green all in frame 4. SAF 16 Green and Open in Frame 5.
AAA 52, AAA 77 and AAA 103- Green and Open to begin Frame 4 - Closed in the frame - Green and Closed for Frame 5.
SAF 17 - Green and open to begin Frame 4, closed and captured by red in frame and recaptured by the greens - SAF17 Green and Open in Frame 5.
SAF 18 - Red and open to begin Frame 4 - Closed and captured in frame 4 - SAF18 Green and Open in Frame 5.
GAF48 - Red and Open to begin Frame 4 - red and closed at the end of the frame - GAF48 Red and Closed in Frame 5.
North Leyte, Masbate and Islands
The following fields were all red and closed in frame 4 and remained closed at the end of the frame, therefore they are red and closed to begin frame 5:
SAF 39, SAF 26, SAF 28, SAF 67, SAF 36. SAF 37, MAF 62.
Vil98 was red and open to begin Frame 4 and was closed and captured in frame 5 - Vil98 Green and Open in frame 5.
SAF 21 was red and closed to begin Frame 4 - was not captured in the frame and is red and open for frame 5.
The following three fields were green and open to begin frame 4, were closed and captured by the reds in frame 4 and will be red and open in frame 5
SAF23, SAF24, GAF47
The following fields were red and open to begin frame 4 and were closed but not captured in the frame - therefore red and closed for frame 5
MAF 59, LAF7, MAF 61.
GAF1 was green and open to begin Frame 4 and was closed and not captured in the frame. GAF1 is Green and Closed for Frame 5.
Please review and validate.

Here is a copy of .fields taken at T+175.
Download to assist in sorting out the fields.
Jabo - F24 was listed as closed all last week and as recent at T-9:00:00 Sunday morning. I dispatched Gdzla in a C47 to capture and he was shredded by ack. We contacted you, in frame, but I lost track of the outcome of that field. At the very least, the field should be closed, if not closed red.
Thank you!
